This Privacy Policy explains how RealTek Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“RealTek Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information in connection with the MeasuringLens mobile application for iOS (the “App”).
By downloading or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
MeasuringLens is designed to minimize the collection of personal information. In plain terms:

The terms of service that govern your use of the App are Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. RealTek Labs LLC is the Application Provider of the App, and your license to the App is granted by us under the Standard EULA. The Standard EULA is Apple’s standard form; we do not modify it, and nothing in this Privacy Policy amends, supplements, or overrides it.
Technical data. Section (b) of the Standard EULA permits the Licensor of an app to collect and use technical data and related information about your device, system and application software, and peripherals in order to provide software updates, product support, and related services, provided that it is used in a form that does not personally identify you. That provision describes what a licensor is permitted to do. As a matter of our actual practice, described throughout this Privacy Policy, we do not collect technical data from your device ourselves: we operate no servers that receive data from the App, and the only App-performance information we receive is the aggregated, non-identifying reporting Apple makes available to developers as described in Sections 3 and 10. Where this Privacy Policy is more protective of your information than the Standard EULA requires, this Privacy Policy reflects how we handle your information.
No warranties created here. This Privacy Policy describes our information practices. It is not a warranty, guarantee, or representation of any kind about the App, and it does not alter the disclaimers, limitations of liability, termination, export, or governing-law provisions of the Standard EULA, which continue to apply on their own terms. If any question arises as to the terms of your license to use the App, the Standard EULA controls.
Because the App has no backend, it helps to distinguish three separate layers:
The App requires access to your device’s camera in order to display a live camera view with measurement overlay lines and to capture a still image used to position those lines against your vessel. When you grant camera permission, iOS presents you with our stated purpose; you may revoke this permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera, though the App’s core functionality will not operate without it.
Camera imagery is processed entirely on your device and in memory only. The live camera feed and any still image captured for measurement are used to identify the vessel and derive the information needed to place the measurement overlay. They are not written to persistent storage, are not saved to your Photo Library, are not transmitted off your device, and are not accessible to RealTek Labs or to any third party. The App does not request or receive write access to your Photo Library and does not save any images to it. Images are discarded from memory once the measurement overlay has been rendered or you leave the camera view.
No biometric data. The App does not perform facial recognition and does not collect, capture, or store any biometric identifier or biometric information — including any scan of face or hand geometry, fingerprint, voiceprint, or retina or iris scan — as those terms are used in the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, and comparable laws.
The App uses your device’s gyroscope, and the device orientation information iOS derives from it, to position and stabilize the measurement overlay relative to the vessel. These sensor readings are processed on your device in real time, are not written to persistent storage, and are not transmitted to RealTek Labs or to any third party.
The App allows you to create and save custom recipes and related preferences. This information is:
If you have enabled iCloud Backup or encrypted local backups, your device may include App data in those backups. Backups are created and controlled by Apple and by you, not by RealTek Labs, and are governed by Apple’s privacy policy and iCloud terms. We recommend exporting or noting any recipes you would not want to lose, since we have no ability to recover data from your device.
The Standard EULA described in Section 2 requires you to remove the App from an Apple device before you sell or transfer that device to someone else. Removing the App also removes the recipes and preferences stored on it, which prevents that information from passing to the new owner.
The App requires an auto-renewing subscription. All purchases and subscription management are handled by Apple through the App Store using Apple’s StoreKit framework.
Apple’s handling of your purchase information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
If you email us at the address in Section 19, we will receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include in your message. We use that information solely to respond to you and to keep a record of the correspondence, and we do not use it for marketing or share it with third parties for their own purposes. Please do not send us sensitive personal information. We retain support correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and to maintain our business records, and you may ask us to delete it using the contact details in Section 19.
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting, or social-media software development kits (SDKs). RealTek Labs does not collect, receive, or maintain any of the following:
We do not track you as that term is defined by Apple, and we do not display advertising. Because the App does not track you, it does not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
We do not embed any analytics or crash-reporting software in the App. However, if you have chosen to share analytics and diagnostics with app developers in iOS (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may make available to us aggregated, non-identifying information about App performance — for example, crash logs, energy usage, and counts of app launches or impressions.
This information is collected by Apple at the operating-system level under your control, is provided to us in aggregate form, and is not used by us to identify you. You can turn this sharing off at any time in iOS Settings.
Because RealTek Labs does not operate a backend, maintain user accounts, or hold a database of user-generated content, there is generally no account, camera image, sensor record, or recipe database on our side for us to retain or delete.
To request deletion of anything you have sent us directly, contact us using the details in Section 19. Information held by Apple in connection with your Apple Account or purchases is subject to Apple’s own retention practices and can be addressed through Apple’s privacy tools.
The App contains links to this Privacy Policy, to the Terms of Service for the App — Apple’s Standard EULA, described in Section 2 and hosted by Apple — and potentially other resources. Selecting a link will open the referenced page in your browser or an in-app browser view. Any third-party site you visit is governed by that site’s own privacy policy, and we are not responsible for the content or practices of sites we do not operate.
Because RealTek Labs does not collect or store personal information on servers we control, there is no user data in our possession to be exposed in a breach of our systems. Information you store within the App resides on your device and is protected by your device’s own security features, including your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS file encryption. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information stored on your device or of correspondence sent to us by email.
The App is rated 4+ on the App Store and is intended for a general audience. It is not designed for or directed to children, it is not offered in the App Store Kids Category, and it contains no advertising, no social features, and no user-to-user communication.
Parental consent and supervision. If you are under the age of 18 — or under the age of majority in the jurisdiction where you live, if that age is different — you may use the App only with the consent, and under the oversight, of a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian who permits a minor to use the App is responsible for that use, including for accepting the Terms of Service described in Section 2 on the minor’s behalf, for supervising the minor’s use of the device camera in connection with the App, and for any purchase or auto-renewing subscription made through the App. Parents and guardians can manage or restrict purchases using Apple’s Family Sharing, Ask to Buy, and Screen Time controls.
Children’s privacy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13, in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), or from any child below the age at which a child can consent on their own behalf under the law of their country. That age varies by jurisdiction: it is 13 in the United Kingdom, and between 13 and 16 across the European Economic Area depending on the country. Below that age, consent must be given or authorized by a parent or guardian.
Because the App collects no personal information from any user — camera imagery, sensor readings, and recipes never leave the device, as described in Sections 4, 5, and 6 — we do not knowingly hold any information about a child. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us using the details in Section 19 and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and delete it.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”), California residents have certain rights regarding their personal information.
The only personal information we hold about an individual user is what that user chooses to send us directly, such as an email to our support address (see Section 8). We use it solely to respond and to maintain our business records. You may submit a request to know, delete, correct, or limit the use of your personal information by contacting us using the details in Section 19, and we will respond as required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
If you are located in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, RealTek Labs LLC is the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with the App. As described above, the App does not transmit personal data to us. Where we do process personal data — principally correspondence you send us — we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to you and maintaining accurate business records (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), and, in relation to the license granted to you under the Standard EULA described in Section 2, on the performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your subscription is purchased from and billed by Apple, and the personal data involved in that transaction is processed by Apple rather than by us.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 19.
RealTek Labs LLC is located in the United States. To the extent any personal data reaches us, it is transferred in connection with the performance of your contract with us or in response to correspondence you initiate.
Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws — including but not limited to Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana — may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or profiling. We do not engage in targeted advertising, do not sell personal data, and do not conduct profiling. You may contact us at any time to exercise applicable rights.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and post the updated policy at the URL from which you accessed it. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or the App Store listing. Your continued use of the App after an updated Privacy Policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
